Shabbat Tunes / מנגינות לשבת

• ובנחה יאמר / הכנסת ספר תורה – The end of הכנסת ספר תורה. Ronny often sung this on Shabbat morning and sometimes on Chag. One of my mother’s favorites – found this recording Uvenucho Yomar by Louis Lewandowski

Tunes of Sukkot, Pesach, Shavuot, Shmini Atzeret & Sukkot /מנגינה לשלושת הרגלים
Each one of the רגלים had it’s own tune. This tune was used in Shul for the Kaddish after ישתבח in שחרית, and in the Hallel / הלל for הודו and אנא השם הושיעא נא. I5t was also used for the שיר המעלות sung at the end of the meals.
In Musaf the tunes were mixed for the phrase – בחג המצות ובחג השבועות ובחג הסוכות

Yigdal for the 3 festivals / יגדל לשלושת הרגלים
Special tune for יגדל during פסח, שבועות, סוכות and שמיני עצרת. Sung at the end of Arvit.

Blessings of Shema on Pesach, Shavuot & Sukkot / ברכות קריאת שמע לשלושת הרגלים

Although most shuls in Israel use the regular Shabbat tune for ברכות קריאת שמע on שלושת הרגלים, Ronny kept using a special melody he learnt from his parents. You could see Horovitz members humming this tune to themselves in shuls using the Shabbat tune. This was our way of making sure we did not forget this lovely melody.
This tune was used for “ובמקהלות רבבות עמך בית ישראל” (the previous part from “האל בתעצומות עזך” was sung in the well know melody), for Yishtabach, Kaddish and Barchu (ישתבח, קדיש, ברכו)  the tune of the specific festival / רגל  was used, and then then this tune was used until Amida (שמונה עשרה).

תפילת גשם / טל
In most communities the special prayer for גשם and טל start with the Kaddish before Mussaf. This Kaddish, as well as the beginning of חזרת השץ is sung a tune very similar to that of ימים נוראים.

Shabbat Shkalim Kaddish / קדיש לשבת שקלים

A tune for the קדיש said after חזרת הש”ץ של מוסף (Musaf Amida Repetition) on שבת שקלים.
This is one of the tunes Ronny is most remembered for in his shul Shivtei Yisral (Kehillat Shivtei Yisrael).
The melody is sung from the end of Amida (originally started at the end of יוצרות).

9th of Av / תשעה באב
Even this sad day had it’s melodies. This included some tunes for the Kinot as well as the well know Eli Tzion (אלי ציון) with every 2nd verse sung differently.
