טעמי ההפטרה
The tune used by the Horovitz family for reading the הפטרה. This is the tune used in England.
The recordings below are actually of my father, Ronny Horovitz z”l.
Haphtora of Vaetchanan / הפטרת ואתחנן –

מגילת אסתר
Ronny’s rendition of the Megillah was well known and much loved. The special tunes he got from home coupled with the special effects he added,made for a memorable reading.
Although Ronny used to repeat various words in his earlier reading days, he stopped doing so after reading Rabbi Mordechai Breuer’s article article about the correct נוסח. From then on, he read based on R. Brauer’s findings (he also stopped the double reading of זכר in שבת זכור reading).

The following psukim were read to the tune of Megillat Eicha (מגילת איכה):

  • א,ז – וכלים מכלים שונים
  • ב,ו – אשר הגלה מירושלים עם הגלה אשר הגלתה עם יכניה מלך יהודה, אשר הגלה נבוכדנצאר מלך בבל
  • ג,טו – והעיר שושן נבוכה
  • ד,א – ומרדכי ידע את כל אשר נעשה ויקרע מרדכי את בגדיו וילבש שק ואפר ויצא בתוך העיר ויזעק זעקה גדולה ומרה
  • ד,ג – ובכל מדינה ומדינה מקום אשר דבר המלך ודתו מגיע אבל גדול ליהודים וצום ובכי ומספד שק ואפר יצע לרבים
  • ד,טז – וכאשר אבדתי אבדתי
  • ח,ו – כי איככה אוכל וראיתי ברעה אשר ימצא את עמי ואיככה אוכל וראיתי באבדן מולדתי
